If you have a good farm keep it, improve it, adorn it, and when yna are done with it, hand it down to your children, the best inheritance with a good name and education that yon could leave them. There are a number of rucors afloat in regard to transactions in the Commissioners' Office. It is reported that bills have been paid and raised to higher figures, aDd published to the public with the advance added to the original bill. Among men on whom it was said a bill was raised is Mr. Eli Puno, a reputable citizen of Fer managh township. Il was said that by going to Mr. Dunn the facts in the case could be learned. We called on Mr. Dunn and asked concerning the matter in question. He stated that Le Lad doue service for the county in the tran scribing of dockets to the amount of two hundred and twenty-five dollars; that be presented his bill to the board of Commissioners and was paid for it, aud that he bad since been told that in the published statement of the Receipts and Expenditures be was charged with a mnch larger turn, and referred us to that published document for informa tion beyond what has just been stated. 15y consulting the published statement, under the head of Public Offices the name of Eli Dunn appears, as follows : "Eli Dunn, transcribing dockets, effi cers' fees, Le., six hundred and eighty dollars and fifty-seven cents," which, when Mr. Dunn's bill of $225. is de ducted, leaves a balance of four hun dred and fifty-five dollars and fifty seven cents for officer's fees, La. After referring to the statement and reach ing the above result, and making it known to Mr. Dunn, he would not charge it on the balance that it was in any particular wrong. This may be what we last werk classed an nnitem ized statement, , If any responsible man knows differently wherein particu lar wrong lies, let him come forward and so state it, and it shall be published in the columns of the Senlinel and Re publican. We bave publisbtd town ship statement in bulk, handed to us for publication, that are as obscure as the county case referred to, that prob ably were all right, but tbey were quite unsatisfactory and were not what the law requires. Tbey were nnitemized. A YOUNG lady of Harrisbnrg, Miss Minnie H. Walters, spoke in one of the prayer meetings of the Oakville 'Cum-, berland county) M. E. camp meeting, relating to a remarkable cure, which she attributes directly to the special interposition cf Christ. The occur rence, related by the lady in detail in a private conversation, is to the effect that over two years ago she was afflict ed with a spinal disease so serious that she could scarcely move a finger, and she was coofiued to a couch purposely suited for the disease. Nearly two years sgo she became convinced that she needed eloser consecration to Cbrut; in other words, she desired the bles sing of sanctification, so prominent in the Methodist belief. She prayed earn estly without avail. Something seemed to tell ber that consecration of body as well aa soul was required, and it . was revealed to ber that the would be healed. Tbirteep months passed and do remit. On the 26th of Januarr last she once mr. .nld r,r. more earnest V r.-j ' for the fulfilment of the revelation. While praying the promise came to her, whatsoever tbott wrtt, ask and it shall be given. She frayed first for heart purity, and next for bodily health. The words came, Rise up and walk," and to her great relief she fonnd her self in apparent health. . The doctor next morning found her restored to health without heed of medical atten dance. Her statement was corrobora ted by four other persons acquainted with the circumstauces, who rejoice with her over ber restoration to health, which she unwaveringly believes to have resulted from the stretching forth of Christ's hand in reward for her great i faith.
