4—The Daily Collegian Thursday, Oct. 9, 1986 Fraternity rolls bed for charity The Delta Tau Delta Fraternity Bed Race is raising money for the American Heart Association by roll ing a bed from Hershey to State College Yesterday the fraternity began its 100-mile roll from the 'University's Hershey Medical Center to the HUB lawn. Seventy members of Delta Tau Delta, 429 E. Hamilton, and Chi Ome ga sorority, 101 S Haller, plan on ar riving at the HUB at 6 p.m. Friday. The bed is pushed in six hour shifts on secondary roads to University Park, said John Hartenstein, philan thropy chairman. Hartenstein said one member of the five-person team is allowed to sit on the bed while the four others push the bed 50 yards Meanwhile, about 10 fraternities and 10 sororities will compete in a bed race at 5 p.m. today on Pollock Road, Hartenstein said. The competition will also be open to independent tea ms.
