College Ave. Students Show Negative Spirit It's a good sign if a student body shows spirit for a football game, but sometimes spirit can be costly. Such was the case last week before the Syracuse game. Penn State students, in their eagerness to whip-up spirit for the game, caused damages esti mated at $125 - - $l5O to the Uni verstiy campus. According to Henry Yea gley, Director of Phys ical Maintenance and Utilities, the signs painted on side walks and doors of resident halls and the broken windows will cost the Uni- versity nearly $l5O in labor and repairs, "I'm sure the administration wouldn't try to stop any displays of spirit, but there must be a way of showing spirit that isn't so costly," Yeagley said. Penn State football captain Jim Smith was of the same opinion. "The football players really appre ciate the spirit the students have shown this year, but personally I think the sign painting that took place before the Syracuse game was a show of negative spirit. Don't get me wrong, I think we should keep school spirit up, but there must be other ways of doing it," he said. ;2.1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 131 - Garner St. iimmummummunummumminnommummunnnumumminnimai STEAMED CLAMS 55c a dozen BECAUSE OF POPULAR REQUEST, WE WILL CONTINUE OUR CLAM SPECIAL FOR HOMECOMING WEEKEND - FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Remember, only THE LION'S DEN r 9 THE CLASSIC liMhM Imported from England, this hand some sweater -is perfect for campus wear.
