PAGE EIGHI Two Coeds Plred On Probation Two coeds were placed on disciplinary probation, on e from Oct. 12 until the end of the term, and the other until the end of next term, the dean of women's office announced yesterday. The two girls, who appeared last week before the Senate Sub-Com mittee on Discipline. had failed to sign out a week ago Saturday night. and had also failed to come in at closing hours, Dorothy J. Lipp, dean of women, said. Daniel R. Lea s ure, assistant to the dean of men, explained that two men, who also appeared be fore the sub-committee last week and Were subject to disciplinavy action, had gone to the Betz& Union earlier that evening and met the coeds. The foursome went for a ride and parked in the vicinity of the University sawmill. When they thought to check the Time. Leasure reported. it was after I a.m. and the residence halls were locked. To avoid getting into trouble hy returning late to the residence h ills, Leasure 'explained, one of the coeds decided to stay in a friend's apartment downtown and the other to sleep overnight in the car. Because the men didn't feel that the coed should stay by herself in the car overnight, one of them volunteered to stay with her. Lea sure said. Campus patrolmen found the car early Sunday morn ing with the coed sleeping in, the hack seat and the male student sleeping in the front seat of the car.
