Garner and his cohorts, Eddie Calhoun„bassist and Kelly Martin, percussionist, took the re- " sponsive audience by storm with saying, I have a natural gift, their spontaneous renditions of but I have to keep teaching myself every year." It has been rumored that Gar ner is trying to curb his famous groaning during performances. When questioned he replied, !chuckling, "I wouldn't say I'm trying to stop it altogether it's (something that just comes out when I play. I just try to keep it from getting too loud. Among those present in the ,audience Sunday was Bruce 'Mitchell, artist-in-residence from Bucknell University who was sketching Garner for portraits on !future album covers. .. . Garner's style is completely! original and w:ien asked if he! patterns his work after anyone! he said emphatically, "No, not at' all! As a matter of fact, I'm stil looking for a style of my own!" PENNSYLVANIA Two-Day Donation Period To Begin at Bloodmobile Most students don't know what type of blood they have but the Red Cross will arrange Ito correct that situation for those who donate blood today or tomorrow. All those who participate in the blood donation program at the Red Cross Bloodmobile headquar ters in the Hetzel Union card room will receive a donor's card specifying their blood type. Mrs, Walter Coutu, executive secretary of the State College Red Cross chapter, said that do nations will be accepted from students, faculty and townspeo ple between the ages of 21 and 60. Mrs. Coutu added thz.t minors between the ages of 18 and 21 may give blood if they have a 'release signed by their parent or guardian.
