Frosh Talent
Replaces Fun
A "Class Night" freshman talent show will replace the
Orientation Week Fun Night next fall.
All-University Cabinet voted unanimously last night to
expend a maximum of $285 in funds for the "talent" night.
Ir s i the past, Fun Night, the climaxing event of Orientation
Week, included a dance and en-
tertainment by a master of cere
mOmes. ,
The talent revue next year
will be the major entertain
ment, and a dance will follow.
Jere Fridy, former chairman of
the Board of Dramatics and For
ensics, said he felt the new pro
gram would definitely promote
greater class• spirit.
In a discussion about the cost
of the show John Gingrich, All-
University secretary - treasurer,
told Cabinet the changes might
run over $347 if costs of orches
tra, recreation hall and refresh
ments were included. The Fun
whiskers up—let you shave at the
true whisker base.
With Rollectric —you're always sure
of a peach of a shave in absolute
comfort!

Night cost $lB7 in 1957 and 1956,
he said.
Pridy said it has been agreed
that the Ph Mu Alpha Dance
Band wil play for the dance
free of charge since the "night"
will be a University function..
He said that $285 was chosen as
a maximum figure after a dis
cussion with Dean of Men Frank
J. Simes. The estimated costs for
refreshments would raise the
costs over last year, he said.
Fridy also suggested the talent
show might be used to kick off
the freshman customs and to in
troduce cheers.
