The White award goes to the grad uate with the highest academic average who also fulfills a resi dency requirement. Weir, who transferred after his sophomore year from the Uni versity of Michigan, was ineligi ble for this honor. He will prepare a book on con temporary French literary criti ' cism. LeSage, who has served on the faculty since 1949, will be on a leave of absence from July 1, 1958, to June 30, 1959. All-University Cabinet voted unanimously last night to expend a maximum of $285 in funds for the "talent" night. In a discussion about the cost of the show John Gingrich, All- University secretary - treasurer, told Cabinet the changes might run over $347 if costs of orches tra, recreation hall and refresh ments were included.
