AtzttotiOt it was written in the seventh century, "The Alchemist" is up-to-date, for the modern con fidence games still operate in pre cisely the same way as those por trayed in the play. Every year there is a crop of suckers who are looking for the inside track, the royal road, the easy way. "Con men" are still, perhaps, the world's most highly paid, and most skillful actors for the roles they play in this ancient game can still separate fools from thou-ands of dollars every year. The play, writtern by Beu Jon son. is set in the Elizabethan and Shakesperian era. Costumes and dialogue provide color and humor. Fourteen students will act in the play. Characters are lively and comical. The part of Pertinax Surly, a major male role, will bring in a Spanish atmosphere.
