He-Man Contestants To Perform Feats Preliminaries of the He-Man contest, to 11 on Beaver Field, will include push-ups, a yard dash, according to Barbara Wallace and co-chairman. The contest will be part of Spring Week Each contestant will receive one point for each push up and ten points for a successful kick of a soccer ball 15 feet away into a 4x5 soccer goal, Miss Wallace stated Fourteen seconds .will be the limit on the 100-yard dash, which will be run in 12 heats. Each en trant will be awarded ten points for each second under 14 which he takes to cover the 100 yards. 15 to Enter Finals Fifteen contestants who total the greatest number of points in the preliminaries will enter the finals, where they will participate in a 100-yard obstacle race. After the elimination of five lowest scoring contestants, the remain ing ten will throw the shotput. The five candidates who have scored the highest number of points in the shotput will then be judged on the theme of their costume, abilities, physique, and manliness. Selection of the He- Man will be based on these quali ties, Miss Wallace said. One Contestant per Group Each combined group in Spring Week activities may enter only one contestant in the contest, who will receive 25 points for his sponsoring group. One hundred points will be awarded to each of the five finalists, and the win-, ner will receive 150 point's and a He-Man trophy. Entrance blanks were sent out last night and are available at the Student Union desk in Old Main. The deadline for entries, which may be returned to the SU desk, is 5 p.m. Tuesday. Car Cushion Stolen State College police are investi gating the theft of the front seat cushion from a car belonging to Bruce Coble, sixth semester civil engineering major. Walter Trainer, assistant professor of landscape construc tion, said yesterday that the rain got in area ways at the new Pond Laboratory and flooded parts of the new section of Buckhout. Rain also filled the basement of the Nittany Lioh Inn so that it backed up the stairs. So far this month only 5.23 inches of rain have fallen and the University weatherman believes that the April showers are over. Illegal Permit Case Sent to Tribunal Dean of Men Frank J. Simes yesterday sent to Tribunal the case of a student who used a friend's name to obtain a campus parking permit. Capt. Philip A. Mark of the Campus Patrol recommended the case to the Dean of Men's office Friday. Mark said the student used the name of a friend to ob tain a permit, and was discovered when the person in whose name the car was registered was suni maned, to explain excessive viola tions.
