Who's the Strongest?
He-Man Contestants
To Perform Feats
Preliminaries of the He-Man contest, to
11 on Beaver Field, will include push-ups, a
yard dash, according to Barbara Wallace and
co-chairman.
The contest will be part of Spring Week
Each contestant will receive one
point for each push up and ten
points for a successful kick of a
soccer ball 15 feet away into a
4x5 soccer goal, Miss Wallace
stated
Fourteen seconds .will be the
limit on the 100-yard dash, which
will be run in 12 heats. Each en
trant will be awarded ten points
for each second under 14 which
he takes to cover the 100 yards.
15 to Enter Finals
Fifteen contestants who total
the greatest number of points in
the preliminaries will enter the
finals, where they will participate
in a 100-yard obstacle race. After
the elimination of five lowest
scoring contestants, the remain
ing ten will throw the shotput.
The five candidates who have
scored the highest number of
points in the shotput will then
be judged on the theme of their
costume, abilities, physique, and
manliness. Selection of the He-
Man will be based on these quali
ties, Miss Wallace said.
One Contestant per Group
Each combined group in Spring
Week activities may enter only
one contestant in the contest, who
will receive 25 points for his
sponsoring group. One hundred
points will be awarded to each
of the five finalists, and the win-,
ner will receive 150 point's and a
He-Man trophy.
Entrance blanks were sent out
last night and are available at the
Student Union desk in Old Main.
The deadline for entries, which
may be returned to the SU desk,
is 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Floods, Wet Feet
Caused by Rains
The recent downpour here on
campus has caused more than wet
feet. Walter Trainer, assistant
professor of landscape construc

got in area ways at the new Pond
Laboratory and flooded parts of
the new section of Buckhout. Rain
also filled the basement of the
Nittany Lioh Inn so that it backed
up the stairs.
