College _ yearbook; Froth, humor magazine: Critique, liter ary periodical; and the Student Handbook. Penn State Engineer, under graduate technical journal, re cruits its staff from those in En neering curricula; and the IFC News Letter, published by the Interfraternity Council, from fra ternity members. Meetings of candidates for all publications will be announced in the Daily Collegian shortly after the beginning of classes. Details concerning require ments, type of work, and furth er meetings will be announced editors of the individual publi cations at those times. Students joining the Daily Col legian staff as candidates are im mediately assigned routine re porting, copy editing, and morgue jobs. They are selected for the Sophomore Board at the begin ning of the second semester on the basis of ability and interest. After training and practice on the Sophomore and Junior Boards, editors are selected at the end of their junior year, serving as member of the Senior Board, the policy determining group of the paper. Several caihpus utility projects were undertaken during the sum mer, including the construction of a radio aerial system which will provide an aerial outlet in each room at Nittany dorms, and a new fire alarm system in McAll ister Hall and Woman’s building. A steam line was built from the Nittany dorms’ heating plant to the Pollock Circle cafeteria, which is being used as a recrea tion center. A ten-foot wide trench, to carry utilities to the Foods building and the water tunnel now under construction, is being dug across Route 322 to the vicinity of the power plant. FOR SALE . . .
