JUNE 28. 1948 Alumni Poll Selects Tough Slate For Penn Slate Football Combine There are no "breathers" on the football schedule proposed by old grads in a nation- vide poll of Penn State alumni. And the ideal schedule always would include Pitt and Penn. In a mail vote conducted by the Penn State Alumni Associa tion, incomplete returns today indicated that Nittany Lion grads would like the opposition to come largely from the ranks .of. East ena _powers. Only schools outside of the East to win a sizeable bloc of votes were Notre Dame and Ohio State. In the East, Pitt and Penn led the pack, followed by Army, Navy, Cornell, Columbia and Syracuse.
