While eliminating costly trips this type of meet stil_ permits the country's tankwomen to match their speed and skill. In past years Penn State has been well represented in the East ern Regional and National meets. Last year Judy Klein, '4'7, carried off individual starring honors, placing first regionally and nationally in the 75-yard individual medley and first regionally in the 100- yard breast stroke and back stroke. A 75-yard medley relay team composed of Ruth Black, Judy Klein,and Lee Ann Wagner placed firs t in both the Nation als ,and Easterns. Completing th e list of first place laurels, the team of Klein, Black, Wagner, and Zivic won the 100 -yard free style relay. Lee Ann Wagner and Jacqueline Zivic are again m com- petition and thus far have been setting a fast pare winning first place and placing second in several events. Deadline fo r the results of the participating colleges to have their best times score in is April 1. The results of the Eastern meets will be available by April 3 and the National results will be tabulated by April 10. The country is divided into four regions, the Eastern with Penn State as headquarter s for the year, the Central, where State University of lowa is headquar ters, South, University of Miami, and the Western, with U.C.L.A. serving as sponsor. Each year the honor of being the National sponsor is rotated among the re gions, with it falling to the East ern region this year. Since Penn State was the Eastern victor last year they have the honor of being both Eastern and National spon sor.
