Pettenger Award Trophy, awarded for excellence in lacrosse, has been delivered to the College, Nick Thiel, lacrosse coach, said recently. It is to be annually awarded to the graduating senior who is considered most valuable to the squad, and who has shown the most improvement since joining the team. The trophy was named for George R. Pettenger, lacrosse star at the College from 1941-44, who was killed in France on April 30, 1944. He was a lieutenant in the Armored Force. The money was raised by vol untary contributions from Penn State alumni. Awarded for the first time last year, the winner was Ken Kerwin, captain and Epstein.
