The Lion team, coached by Jim O'Hora, lost to Syracuse Uni versity Jayvees, 12-6, and Navy Jayvees, 19-0. Bucknell, however, boasts a record of four wins and one tie The Bisons have won over Temple freshmen, Lock Haven Jayvees, City Veteran's Institute of Baltimore and Kings College. Lycoming College held Bucknell to a 19-19 stalemate. According to Coach O'Hora, the Lions will operate from both single - wing and T - formation. Bucknell employs a single-wing formation. Ashenfelter is with the squad this year and has kept up his meet-winning pace by placing first in every College dual meet this season. KARVER Jerry Karver. who did not fin ish last year's meet because of a heel injury, won the freshman ehamonionsiho in 1941 over the same course. Two hundred and twenty-eight harriers competed in the 1946 meet, and beside Stone and Ash enfelter. Mitch Williams. Howie Horne. and Don Longeneckes placed 18th, 40th. and 42nd, in a field representing 36 colleges. TROPHY The Lion harriers finished in the top brackets in the 1938 meet when 'Wild' Bill Smith took the freshman championship and the team placed fifth. That same year Michigan State won the IC4A meet for the fifth consecutive time and gained permanent pos session of the trophy. No team has equalled .their mark of five straight before or since that time. Leslie Mac Mitchell of NYU set the course record in 1939 with a mark of 26:2.8 over the hilly Van Courtland paths, although rec ords show that in 1932 George Barker ran 'about six miles' In 28:58 which, if Oficial. would supercede Mac Mitchell's time.
