PAGE FOUR Soccer (Continued from Page Three) Dean Witmer booted the first Lion goal from a few feet in front of the net after five minutes of play _...)NS FORGE AHEAD tew minutes later, after some snappy defensive play by Jack Campbell at left half, fancy boot ing Ralph Hosterman took the ball at centerfield on a pass from left fullback Frank Tauscher, dribbled once to his right, and passed sharply to Ken Hoster man downfield who netted the second Lion score from 15 yards. Second period play centered around midfield territory with the tightening defensive strate gy of the Bisons thwarting num erous attempts of Lion invasion. Bucknell's giant left fullback was outstanding at his defensive slot as he personally smashed every State thrust from the right side of the State forward wall. The half ended with the score still 2-0 in the Lions' favor. HARTMAN SCORES Despite a flurry of net shots from both teams during the third period, Lion goalie Gene Graeb ner and the Bison's goalie effec tively smothered all scoring threats from the opposition's punters. Desperate long shot attempts by the Bisons in the waning minutes failed to connect and the Scot's booters left the turf with their first victory of the season firmly in hand.
