All coeds are automatically IWA members upon entering the College and remain so until pledging a sorority. There are no dues, and each independent woman has the right to partici pate in IWA activities. Established on the campus last Spring, the purpose of the organi zation is to unify independent wo men and give them an opportun ity to express themselves and par ticipate in activities as a group. Representation on the central council is through a representa tive of each dormitory group ac cording to the number of inde pendent women in the group. The executive committee is also in cluded in this council. The IWA Fall activities include a cultural program of dancing classes, informal dances, forums, and lectures on etiquette. First meeting of IWA in the new semester will be held in the second floor lounge, Old Main, at 8 p. m. Tuesday, September 15. Hazel E. Gassmann '43, president, invites all freshman and trans fer coeds to attend. Panhellenic Council is made up of two representatives of the 14 women's national sororities. Its purpose is to maintain good fra ternity and non-fraternity rela tionships, to cooperate with__ the College, and to discuss questions of interest to the College and fra ternities. Definite action on Fall semes ter rushing has not been taken, but sorority women found that Summer rushing proved success ful, according to Pauline E. Kell er '43, Panhel .Council president. Sorority groups live in houses and suites on the campus, and each group has its own social plans. Intramural sports compe tition is keen between them, and a dance sponsored by Panhellenic Council is an annual affair.
