Arranged as a special attraction for V-Weekend, the Cornell match was switched so that the 'Nittany linksmen might play here during the holiday. Trouncing the Big Red once before this Summer, the Lions stand a good chance of re peating the win. Led by Co-captains Dick Stephens and Bill Swan, the same lineup that has started the last feW matches will probably tee off this Saturday. At present, Dick Hastings and Ed Fairchild, and Chuck Maclay and Jim McCor mick are in - the beginning spots. Stephens shot a one-under-par 68 last week in his match, and should come through in the Cor nell meet to spark the Lions to another victory. Swan has been playing a good game, but dropped one of his matches last Saturday. The golfers have won every game on the schedule since last April except for the close one they dropped to Colgate Saturday, 5-4. The match was so close that TICKET • Thespian-Glee Club Revue Lion Nine To Meet Cornell In V-Weekend Grudge Contest Victory Weekend baseball fans will witness a grudge battle on the New Beaver field diamond at 2:30 p. m. Saturday, if the players' attitude after the last Cornell fray at Ithaca, N. Y., is any indication. Leading 7-4 in the seventh inn ing at Cornell, the Lion squad saw their lead overcome and passed as the Big Red eked out an 8-7 win over the Penn State lads. Three times Coach Joe Be denk's players held leads, only to be overtaken. Whitey Pyer, who was taken out of the game after he helped lengthen the Blue and White lead, may have a chance to repay the New York state lads Saturday. Ed die Tuleya, who hurled his first game in three months against Col gate recently, will also be on hand for mound duty. • Saturday's tilt is the last on the Penn State schedule, and it is doubtful if any more games will be added now. Lock Haven State Teachers' College had two games listed on the roster, but dropped them because of inability to form a team. one of the last players was stretch ed to 20 holes before the match was decided. lEZ Itz Mt Kt . lUt 101 AZ • All-College Field Day PAGE TEM{
