You arc invited to come to the dike for information regarding the Col lege or the town. We bid you welcome LAZINESS AND AN OPPORTUNITY A large percentage of the students who periodically get below in schohrship freely admit that laziness is the chief cause of their un fortunate condition The yellow slips which are sent out after the c' animation period arc complete sermons in themselves Laziness not only has its effect on scholarship but on c‘tra curl mut= activities as well Lack of ambition, coupled with a de sire to get the most work done with the least possible effort, is the cause of so many failures to make good in campus enterprises It ss,is just this past fall that two of the tour junior cheerleaders failed to t eturn to college When a call for junior candidates was issued, one man responded What a dire lack of ambition , Most of the campus honcrs are captured by a few hard workers while the rest of the student body sits back and cheers the other 'ellows on And then somebody cries the blues because he never had a chance, did lie ever try' Participation in campus activities is' one of the best adjuncts to a college career If you don't believe it, en ter the competition and find out. Within a comparatively short time there will be a call issued for freshman candidates for the business staff of the COLLEGIAN Here is ample opportunity to get into a campus activity that is truly valuable The course of instruction and the practical work on the news paper, together with the outside influences that are constantly met by the members of the business staff, make the position worth while This opportunity comes but once in the life of every freshman; when the time comes, grab it—and hang on, CRANGE OUTLINES WORK FOR COMING SEMESTER or ow n commit tees and 111. followllon 11l pl 100 fot the coming no.at t t. the in tin Ittednet Items It 111, lON the l'enn St lie (alone a 1 nn lung of that ow nonlLa don held I Itt'l tt...al In right IN. to IS I.
