The season of 1915 promises to be the greatest ever for the Thes pians. With the coaching of C. L. Downing practically assured, and the other favorable conditions for producing arranged for, the play will surpass all previous shows and set a mark for the coming ones. The name of the play to be shown this year is “Miss Adam of Eden”, and is well written and filled with good humor. The music will be decided upon in the near future, and the public can be assured of the very latest in both music and dancing. Trials were held and an unusual ly large number responded. The parts in the cast decided upon at this date were given to Welty, Raynor, Thatcher, Free, Connell, and Schultz. One other part was finally decided and it falls to Levi Lamb to play. Lamb is a new comer in Thespian circles, but it is assured that he will afford the audi ences a rare treat in his role. The remainder of the cast and the entire chorus will be selected after the ex aminations. The first production of "Miss Adam of Eden" will be played in the college auditorium, Friday night, March 19. Vacation Chapel Daily chapel will be suspended from January 22 until February 1, inclusive. Sunday chapel will be omitted on January 31 only. One of the most active organiza tions in college this year for the general betterment of student life is the literary society of the two-year agricultural students. Meeting every other Friday even ing 7:30. Its meetings have been very interesting as well as instruc tive and have included debates, readings, reports of summer work and dairy trips, music, current topics and other miscellaneous articles. Usually a short time is spent after every meeting in singing the college songs or other music which helps the men to get to gether in a social way. Not only have the meetings been successful from the standpoint of the programs rendered, but also from the attendance side, as the at tendance has been between 30 and 35 men. The girls’ basketball teams are making efforts to obtain the privilege of wearing numerals for those girls who take part in the in terclass game. A building for Y. M. C. A. exhi bits will be erected at the Panama exposition. The Penn State Y. W. C. A. is plan ling to send drawn ings, essays, short stories, and photographs of Y. W. C. A. activities. The W. M. C. A. elected Janet Laird, T 5, as annual member of the Field Student committee. The committee will meet February 12 to 15 at Philadelphia to discuss problems relating to Y. W. C. A. work in college. An amendment to the girls’ stu dent government constitution was passed Tuesday night at house meeting. Representatives to the recent student government confer ence reported that our college was among the very few where the dean was not a member of the student council.
