Relay Team at Pittsburg The relay team will compete in a 1408 yard relay race Saturday in Pittsburg against Carlisle and Pitts burg. The team will be made up of Dolbin, Humble, Mason and White. Hammitt will run in the 60 yard high hurdles and the 60 yard novice dash. Any track man who has not re ported should do so at once. Coach Martin expects to pick the training table in two weeks. Gill, ineligible because of taking a spe cial course, has jumped five feet ten inches in the gymnasium this year. Thomas, ex-Ohio State, will strengthen the team next year in the broad jump and dashes. He has jumped over 22 feet and is capable of 22 seconds in the 220 yard dash. Football Candidates All juniors, sophomores and freshmen who weigh 170 pounds or more should report at once to Coach Harlow for spring practice in line positions. Spring work for all Candida.#*—will commence as soon as the weather permits under the direction of Harlow who will be assisted by John Clarke and Bebout for line candidates, and Miller and Tobin for backfield men. For the last two weeks Harlow has been instructing fifteen under classmen in the rudiments of the game. The practice has been held in McAllister Hall three afternoons each week. Locke and Gonder though inexperienced give promise of developing into valuable men. Novel Debate The American Bankers Associa tion, of Pittsburg, has challenged W. and J. to a debate to be held any time suitable to the college. The question is left for W. and J. to decide, but the contest will be held in Pittsburg. Each team will consist of three or four men and the makeup of the team will prob ably be entirely different from that of the squad that contests against Penn State. The "Red and Black" remarks: "There is something uncanny in the idea of college students and bank ers debating; as a rule, the two have nothing to do with each other”. Conference at New York From March 27 to 29 a confer ence will be held at New York the purpose of which is to offer to col lege students, who are facing their life work, a point of view and some information as to the Christian min istry and the opportunities for serv ice which it affords. at the present time. All college men are invited whether they have decided upon their life work or not. Dr. Hugh Black, Dr. Fosdick and many other equally great men will speak. The only expense is the railroad fare. GRAHAM ON THE CORNER Faculty Drops Students, Because of failure to meet the demads • of their class work as shown in unsatisfactory recitations and examinations, about 100 Ohio State University students who were prominent in campus organiza tions and in clubs have been order ed to retire from their offices by the registrar of the University. The action is prompted by the provisions of the new eligibility rules in operation on the campus, which provide that students must be up in their class work before they can hold positions in under graduate societies and activities. The University faculty considers outside activities as merely inci dental to the main business of col lege life. Mass Meeting. An important mass meeting will be held in the Old Chapel tonight at 6:30. The motion to award the varsity S to wrestlers will be voted upon and reports of important com mittees will-be made. Everyone should attend. Dr. E. S. Moore went to .Phila delphia to see the architects in con nection with the plans for the new Mining building, and Saturday evening was a guest of Dr. Bastain at the annual dinner of the U. S. Geological Survey. The registrar of the University of Kansas has proposed a new scheme to stimulate chapel attendance. One hour credit is given to all those who attend services, which are held twice a week. Oberlin has a regular semester pay day, at which time all classes, Christian associations and other or ganizations receive dues and sub scriptions.
