Although Dr. Edmunds is keenly in'teWested in the Canton Cbristain college he gave the audience a clearer conception of the progress made by the entire Chinese Empire in religion, education, politics and morals. , There ,has been a gradual uplift going on in all of these im portant affairs that are necessary for the making of a strong nation into *Web.
