ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES. Important Movements are on Foot for the Betterment of This School. An organization comprising about ten committee of the School of En gineering has recently been effected for the purpose of aiding in the de velopment of the work of that school and of making it more useful to the people of Pennsylvania. One committee is now considering improvements in the present courses of study which involve the introduc tion of extended work in physics as proposed by the school having that DEAN JACKSON in charge. This committee will also consider the introduction of more wark into the courses bearing upon the business principles which enter into the great transportation and manufacturing problems of the country. It will also consider the development of such new courses as may seem to be needed in carrying on the great industrial work of Penn sylvania. Measures are being taken to get the managers cf Pennsylvania in dustries covered by our courses of study to visit tne school for the two fold purpose of obtaining their sug gestions as to which branches should be introduced into the curricula and of securing their confidence in our men that they may seek to employ them after graduation.
