M. C. Sandles, A. E. Harrold— Study of High Tension Transmis sion. The Dickinson Game Our rivals, the Dickinsonians, were met in the opening battle on the Northern trip and a good con test resulted. Lynch for State, and Houseman for Dickinson officiated on the firing line. The Red and White team aroused a storm of en thusiasm by scaling three runs dur ing the first two innings, giving them the lead over State by a score of 3to 1. Notwithstanding this fact, our Varsity kept up consistent work. with Lynch pitching steadily, over hauled the Dickinsonians in the fourth inning, and took the lead by two runs in the fifth. Cree clipped off three triples and a single, v hi'e Mason worked in a timely double and single, and Hirshman made two singles, the rest of our players like wise doing their share. The final score was 6 to 3. PENN STATE Cree, ss ...... .. L Vorhis. c Coulson, I MEM lE=Na [ZEMIN Conklin, r Ferguson, m Lynch, p DICKINSON Lewis, ss ... .. Davis, 1.. .. .. Fryec. . .... IThe Reserve Baseball Trip. t On Wednesday, May 1, the squad of men composing our reserve base ball team left for the vicinity of Pitts burg. 'three games were to have been playea: one with Kiski, one wish Carnegie Tech., and one with the W. U. P. varsity. The Kiski game was the only one played, nowever, W. U. P. having canceled their game, and the grounds being too wet for the Carnegie Tech. game. In the Kiski game, played on Thursday, State was defeated by the small score of 4 to 1. Skemp pitcned a fine game, striking out fourteen men, and allowing only tnree hits. His support was poor at critical times, however, a fault which handicapped him consiaerably. Fullerton, the pitcher for Kiski, is a brother or the pitcher of the Bellefonte academy nine. He used the "spit-ball" with good effort, and was able to strike out ten men.
