ALUMNI. Harry D. Easton, Mines and Metallurgy, 'O5, engineer for Rock Island Coal Company at Hartshorne, Ind. Ter , has been appointed divis ion engineer of the Deering Coal Company. Mr. Easton is located at Hymera, Indiana. Grover C. Glenn, Mines and Metallurgy, 'O6, has been appointed chemist with the Lackawanna Steel Company, Buffalo, N. Y. Mr. Glenn is principally engaged in Bes semer Steel work. E. R. Wood 'O6 has taken a po sition as electrical inspector for the Ohio Inspection Bureau. He will visit the plants in and around Colum bus and see that the electrical in stallation conforms to the rules of the Board of Fire Underwriters. A. L. Ferver 'O6, has recently ac cepted a position in Colorado as assistant to the chief engineer of the Denver Water and Power Co. J. C. B. Rhoades 'O6, is with the Mexican Central Railroad. T. B. Nolan is engaged in work on the Panama Canal. Chemistry Trip. Beginning on Monday, 25th, the senior and junior chemists spent ten days in visiting industrial establishments for the purpose of studying the chemical processes em ployed. With headquarters at the Broadway Central hotel, New York City, four days were spent in the in spection of plants in Brooklyn, Bayonne, Edgewater, Newark and Perth Amboy, New Jersey, including the laboratories of Columbia Uni versity. The remainder of the time was spent in and around Philadelphia, during which the United States Mint and the laboratories of the Uni versity of Pennsylvania were visited One day was devoted to the Penn sylvania Steel company at Steelton, and the Harrisburg Filtration Plant and laboratories.
