Rogers, 'O3, who is em ployed as a chemist in Mullan, Ida ho, spent a few days at the College this week. He came East to attend the wedding of Walter L. Kirk, 'O3, which took place last week in Evanston, Illinois. F. T. Beers, '9B, writes that he has been promoted to the Superin tendency of the Emporium Works of the Eastern Dynamite Company. Mr. Beers is to be congratulated on his fine position. W. L. Affelder, '99, has resigned from his position as General Man ager of the Mine La Motte Lead and Smelting' Co. of Mine La Motte, Mo., and has returned to the Penn sylvania coal fields. Since early in September he has been superinten dent of Orendo Mines No. 1 and 2 of. the Merchants Coal Co., at Boswell, Somerset county, Pa. R. V. Rex, '99, has been chief mining engineer for the same com pany since Oct. Ist. There was a decrease in the num ber of girls entering Micigan Uni versity this year. The men of that institution are anxious over the situa tion.
