McAllister Hall Two years ago when the class of 1907 entered State the accomoda tion were very poor and many were forced to turn back home on account of the scarcity of rooms. Since that time McAllister Hall has been built and State may well be proud of it. Its erection marks a period in the new era of progress and ex pansion which has been going on for the past few years, and which we hope will continue. Our new Dorm is built of brick and finished throughout with hard wood, making it a handsome as well as substantial structure. Accomo dations are provided for about one hundred and fifty students, and all of the rooms are light and spacious, being far more pleasant than those in Old Main with which all old men are so familiar. But probably most of us are in terested more in the dining hall which fills a long felt want. Every body is familiar with the former state of affairs and a return hereto would be unpleasant. At the pres ent time about three 'hundred and sixty students are boarding at Mc- Allister, while there are accomoda tions for as many as eight hundred and fifty at any one time. Students may be interested in knowing how much it takes to feed the above number, so we give a few items. In one day there is used two hun dred quarts of milk, thirty pounds of butter, thirty-six dozen of eggs, six bushels of potatoes, one hundred and fifty loaves of bread, and one hundred and forty pounds of roast beef, so we see that it takes a great deal to keep the brain and body in good condition.
