This book is one of a series of stories by Mr. Tomlinson which are based on the Revolutiouary War. The history of Wyoming Valley formed one of the saddest chapters in Colonial times, and with such a historical basis we may expect a book that is well worth reading, and we are not disappointed. It is a narrative that is historically correct and written in such a way that every incident and feature proceeds in a natural way and easily captures the reader's attention. The author has very thoughtfully brought the work of the early Moravians, and especially Count Zinzen dorf, before the mirror of public interest, and shows the effect of these pietistic people in their missionary work among the Indians. It might be inferred that from the spirit of the times we would have a book that breathes the same spirit, but from such it is perfectly free.
