In the December number of the American Journal of Science there appears an article under the heading: " Archelon Ischycoc, a New Gigantic Cryptodire Testudinate from the sort Pierre Cretaceous of South Dakota," written by Mr. Geo. R. Wieland, '93. In this paper the author described certain portions of a new gigantic testudinate, and for which he proposes the name "Archelon Ischycoc." The specimen was discovered by Mr. Wieland during one of his recent geological excursions in South Dakota, and seems to be a very rare find and a valuable contribution to our knowledge in this special field. A very careful description of the different parts of the skeleton are given, and the paper as a whole reflects great credit on Mr. Wieland's ability as an investigator and writer. Ex-'9B. Mr. I. P.
