Miss Palmer, of Chester, Pa., has for some weeks past been visiting her sister, Mrs. G. G. Pond, of this place. Mr. John Mitchell, last season's Minneapo lis pitcher, is training the college team for its work in the spring. Miss Lizzie Stuart enjoyed a delightful time during the Christmas holidays while so journing with her friend Miss Hand in Phila delphia. When the apparatus for heating water for the bath-room is " set up," we shall miss that musical sound caused by heating water with steam from the radiator. The following officers were elected at the last meeting of the Glee Club last term : Prof. Bohn, Pres, ; Linsz, Sec. Meek , Bus iness Manager ; and Prof. Davis, Director. G. McKee, Gossler, H. W. and J. H. Mitchell and Girvin, were entertained Friday night, December 6th, at the residence of Mr. Rhoads, on West Linn St., Belle fonte. They reported a pleasant time. The Sophomore Class, in its usual liberal manner, contributed quite a neat little sum towards the enlarging of the College Library. In Athletics and college sports generally " nip " was always at the front. Preparatory Department was increased by eight or ten new students. And they don't wear knickerbockers either. Why is it there are so many non-members of our Societies ? Is it because they think society is conducted for the benefit of visitors, or is it that they have so little interest in their future advancement or possibilities ? Mr. John Mitchell and H. B. McLean spent a portion of their holidays in Philadelphia. The both report having a big time. In fact they took in almost everything in the city, " Grip " not excepted. Prof: and Mrs. Pond gave a dinner to a few members of '92, on the evening before the close of last term. All who were fortunate to be present speak in the highest terms of the hospitality of the entertainers. P. M. Brown and his brother Herbert spent a portion of . their vacation in Buffalo, N. Y., and in viewing the wonders and beau ties of Niagara falls. " Cannibal " thinks they are perfectly wonderful—but then they are partly in English territory don't you know. The regret to be forced to record the fact that Edwin Seward '92 will not be with us any longer as he expects soon to enter a Medical College to prepare for his future profession. '92 will lose a good classman in " Banty " as he was universally called. Cornell Glee Club will give an entertain ment in Bellefonte, March 22, 1890, under the auspices of Y. M. C. A.
