HULSE OF RIWILEBENTATIVEI4, Monday, March 10. House met at 9 o'clock and remained in ses sion until after G o'clock, passing private bills. No le.s , than eighty-nine bills got through, some of them being Senate bills. This is the final passage, so far as they are concerned. House bill 463 ; Senate 274—An act to incor porate the Western Transportation Company. Passed finally. House 457 ; Senate 269—1 n act relative to the subscription of stock in railroad companies in Allegheny and Washington counties. Final pa ,, ,age PERRYSVILLE PLA NK R , LI P An act relative to the Perrysville plank road. This bill was debated by M Talmo/It, M'combs, Herr, and Crawford iu opposition, and Fulton and Lott in favor. Mr. Fulton remarked that loud roads were necessary, and that all the bill contemplated was to raise sufficient toll to en able the stockholders to re-plank their road. Thin road he looked on as important to the trav eling public, and it was as much the advantage such to have good roads to come t t market as it was to the stockholders. Generally, plank roads are a sinking fund, and pay but poorly. There would be 110 more tolls collected than would be necessary to replace the worn out planks. lie hoped the bill would pass. In reply to the gentleman from Venang,n he would say that the road was made with cash. There were no bonds issued. The remarks of Mr. Lott, of Warren, had also a happy effect in passing the Dill. This member always takes a common sense view of whatever collies up. His remarks are ,it all times to the point, and by that means he never wearies the patience of members, which, to my mind, is,,the great secret of his success. Ile is n most exemplary member, and a gentle man without guile. There is probably no man here possessing more influence, and deservedly so, than the member from \Vernal. Ilis consti tuents have good reason to be proud of their faithful representative. Although the bill al !tided to was private in its nature, it net with hostility not looked for, but the well timed re marks of Mlsl'S.
