ht Weill; Morning Post. PITTSBURGH, PA. TUESDAY MORNING, MAY 21, 1844 kluarta Muarza—Yesterday, the bulwark and silky of the country, the Militia, turned out "All plaided and plumed in battle array," and looked quite formidable and furious. If John Bull had only been present to witness the display, he would have surrendered all claim to the Oregon at once, as he would have become ronvinced that any sacrifice of territory would be more prudent than to encounter so well disciplined, so orderly and heroica body at march ed through our streets yesterday. Every variety of dress and all descriptions of arms were visible —here was one with the stars and stripes wrapped around him—the head and neck of another was adorned with a wreath of shavings—several were dressed in the habiliments of Indians, and many had their peepers homed and blackened. They drew after them a wag on. on which was a woolen cannon called the •Peare. maker," and carried a banner with an inscription: "TAKEN AT THE MZIKORABLE DEFEAT OF CAPTAIN FISHER! LIBERTY OR DEATH! The 106th Regiment dispensed at an early hour, but the fantastic. exhibited their patriotism until late in the afternoon. All who witnessed their marchings and countermarchings, admitted that " 'rwere worth ten years of peaceful life One glance at their array." AN EtectioN fur a member of the Select Council, to fill a vacancy occasioned by the regignation of Mr Totten. is to take place in the Fifth Ward to-dny.
