To persons out of the city of Pittsburgh or Allegheny, the preparations made for the San itary Fair are onl> ideal, and of course their magnitude and importance are not fully realized. It is not the buildings alone that constitute the Pair. Without numerous committees and a vast amount of labor by each, the Fair would be worth nothing. And the outside community can have no adequate idea of the labor that these committees perforin, nor can it be known till the Fair opens urnl the rare collections of rich gifts and peculiar curiosities hursts upoa the view like Lden upon t he first inhabitants oi the world. The buildings themselves, h«>we\ er, are uo tri fling affairs. The dimensions of these are as follows: Mechanics' Hall, Itfi’lcet long by iif'leet wide: Audience Room nr Theatre, 18t> feet long by yd feet wide; Monitoi Building, 160'feet long by 6,; feet wide; Floral Kali, IiMJ long by 80 feet wide; Bazaar, i*o feet lung by 9S feet wide; Din- ing Hall. lGu feet long by 51 feet wide. Besides these halt-fi<-\eral rooms of Alleghe ny City Hall will also bedxcupird. The roof of each building is made water proof by being cov ered with paper smeatvd with tar. There are good and substantial floors in each building and other ample accommodations for the exhibi tion aad safe-kpeping of articles brought to the Fair. Substantial doors with good locks are already j iaeed at the entrance ol each room, and a police will guard th.. 1 place each night, so that valuables brought h.-re will be perfectly safe. ' • MkCHanic-’ Hall. —lt is supposed that this hall will be devoted to the reception ami ex hibition df’all kinds ot machinery and curios ities in the mechanical art.-. A part ol the hall may lie used by Agueultitftists for the display of particlu.ar kind.- ot pruduce and In tut »iu ttirae. A great number ol cm iosities tn>m nearly every shop in town will be on exhibition there, but the preparations will be kept a secret in moat instances in drder that the surprise may be the greater when the Fair opens. The Order Revoked Washington, May 2L—The order sus pending the World and Journal of Com merce has -been revoked. Their offices are now open, and the papers will pub lish, as usual, on Monday. Tho Propeller Nile Exploded. Detroit, May 21.—The propeller Nile exploded this a. m. while lying at the dock. Six persons are knownto be killed, and: others are supposed to be.
