Toe Kittanning Democrat h&a the following: •• The oil [excitement Btill increases, and is at present one of the staphißubjecla of converaa uoo. On last Thursday a fine show of oil was found on the premises of Mr. Hugh FHnn, at the depth of about nine feet This locality is about 100 yards from the eiio leased by tbe Kittanning <Ol Company, and affords much fi ner indications of oil than the ialter. Mr. Flinn’s property, as well as that in the neigh borhood, will be much enhanced in value by this discovery, and could not be purchased now at such reasonable figures, as it might have been some lime since. The Kittanuing Oil Company have began driving pipe, and hope in a short time to be ready to bore. They will be much stimulated by this indubitable evidence of <iV in their vicinity. Messrs. H D Dougherty and Brother, are about leasing their brick-yard property to parties in Pitts* burgh, wbo intend to commence operations shortly. We also hear encouraging accounts uf recent discoveries at Rosslon, which surpass those already made. Tbe territory in that neighborhood is being rapidly taken up, and parties desiring to lease had better do so while terms are reasonable. Messrs. Win. Brown and others will be ready to commence opera tion! tbero in a week or two. Tho Garrotte Run Oil Company havo their derrick erected; and will begin operations some lime next week ” ' Tbe Washington Oil Company, composed chiefly of citizens of Allegheny Btruck a good voin of oil last week, on their lease on the ttathbono tract, in the Kanawha district. The well tilled seventeen barrels in forty minutes by a spring pump and has already pTOduoed over 1000 barrels of oil. On Tuesday morning left, the “Lewellen” well caught tiro from the gas, burning over one hundred barrels of oil, a number ot empty barrels, the buildings used for engine house, hoarding bouse, tbe tanks, and everything about the well. A trench was dug to prevent the burning oil from flowing into adjoining derricks. TheGreensburg Democrat says : OnFriday last, the well on the Brinker farm, which was leased seme time since, by General Foster and F. J. Keenan, and which is now owned by thoso gentlemen and Col Painter and Jacob Harrold, was pumped for about ten minutes with an inch and a half tube. Oil was obtained at the rale of about ton barrels per day, but tbe collapsing of the tubes com pel I < d suspension- With new tubes of larger diarne ter it is expected that a good yield of oil will be obtained. The oil obtained fr.un this well ■i! Of*-*iroxeelleni quality, far surpassing that obtained in the Kanawha and Venango re gione. The oil fever has received a new tm» Jietus in this m ighborhood. the panametka. what cam it BE? Bank Note <iuota*loiiß.
