There was steady liquidation of Corn Products at an extreme decline of 6%, making that stock, next to Reading, the most active issue of the forenoon. Read ing's weakness and its decline of 3 points had no material effect on other rails, but Mexicans were lower by 2 to 8 points, with almost as much for metals, motors and shipping shares. Industrial Alcohol reversed its early course, falling to a new low price for the movement., and other specialties. Including the war group, yielded to slight pressure. There were few neu tralizing features, although United States Steel was relatively firm. Bonds were lower. REAL ESTATE] BIG REALTY DEAL I Luther Minter Buys Monger Property I and Interest in Roberts Holding One of the largest real estate deals , of the year was consummated to-day ! when Luther Minter purchased a one- 1 third interest in the Roberts building, 10 South Market Square, and the Men ger property in North Second street, 1 adjoining the Y. M. C. A. • j The Roberts deal was completed through Charles Adler, real estate broker, who recently obtained an op tion on the property. It is under stood that Mr. Minter paid $11,500 for the third interest. The remaining shares are owned by lex. Roberts and George B. Roberts. The Menger property, which was formerly occupied by Menger's restau irant, is a three-story brick structure. It is understood in realty circles that Mr. Minter paid between $27,000 and $28,000 for the building. Mr. Minter could not be reached this afternoon when an effort was made to inquire what would be done with the properties. It is reported, however, that the Menger properly will be used as a new home for the Minter Publish ing Company, now located in South Market Square.
