New Germantown was laid out in the year 1816 and the 100 th anniversary' will be celebrated on May 30, and preparations for the event are now be- \ ins made. The first house built in the village was a log' one which stood j in what is now the M. E. graveyard and probably burned down, as a few years ago the sexton in digging a , grave, unearthed several pieces of charred logs. Prof. William P. United States Would be Advantageous to Both Nations," was the resolution for debate at the last meeing of the Ephrata High School Literary Society.
