McGraw has always wanted Zimmerman, whose home is here. It Is reported that while the deal had been completed none of the play ers mentioned except Bues, who has already joined the Chicago club, will charge their uniforms this season. Officers of the New York club re fused either to deny or confirm the report. Later Manager John J. McGraw, of I the Giants, declared that no such trade had been made or was pending. "X have not even figured on a trade for Zimmerman," he said. "He is a valuable man, I know, but I haven't opened any negotiations for him. Dickinson football men had a bad scare Saturday night and early yesterday over the injuries to Beverly Garrett, fullback on the Western Mart-land football team, which played here on Saturday. Garrett was tackled by Groome with eight seconds to play. The fullback banked his head on the ground, and in a few minutes writhed In violent convulsions. Opiates were adminis tered and the unfortunate youth was rushed later to the Todd Hospital. Through the night his condition seemed to Improve. Other convulsions followed yesterday, but Dr. E. Dr. Plank has now hopes that Garrett will fully recover from what is diagnosed as brain con cussion. Garrett himself yesterday said upon recovering consciousness that he was originally injured last year by being kicked at the brain base, and then had similar violent convulsions. Two World's Records by Mercury Athletes New York, Sept. 28. —More than a thousand members of the New York Athletic Club and three times that number of their friends saw two world's records fall before the speed of a quintet of sturdy athletes bearing their club's emblem Saturday. Homer Baker, the national half mile champion, carried the mercury foot to victory in the 660-yard special race in record time, and Kulin, Wil kie, McNally and Lennon, composing a relay team, won the 1200-yard relay race in unprecedented time. Baker traveled the five furlongs in 1.20 1-5, clipping one and one-fifth seconds from the old world's mark made by Molvin Sheppard four years ago. The relay team, each man run ning 300 yards, traveled the distance in 2.06 4-5, beating by two seconds it he record hung up by the Irlsh -1 American A. C. team last year at Celtic Park.
