President Gerry, of the York club, in a letter, admits the inability of the club to meet these obligations and faced with this contingency it may be necessary for the Tri-State League, in order to keep its circuit Intact, to make a transfer to Lancaster. "Prominent Lancaster citizens, in cluding Mayor Frank B. McClain, have expressed enthusiastic approval of the idea of transferring the team.
