THE RTDGWAY FARM COMPANY haa has made arrangements by which all who desire to settle or purchase a home can do so. The Farms consist of the test limestong soil of the most superior quality for farming, in a rapidly improving place, into which an extensive emigration is now pouring. The prODerty is loruted in Elk County, Pcnnsyl. vania, in the midst of a thriving population of some 10,(j0p. The climate is perfectly healthv, and the terrible plague of the west fever is unknown. It also has an abundance of the best quality of Coal and Iron. The price to buy it out is from $3 to S2O per acre, payable by installments, 10 bo located at the time of purchasing, or a share of twenty-five ac.es entitling to locale the same for S3OO, payable $6 per month or 12$ acres payable $4 per month. Discount for every sum o r SIOO and under, paid in advance, ami fur ovej SIOO a dis .ounl of 10 per cent. In considering the advantages of emigrating to this locality iho following are presented : FIHST —The soil is a rich limestone, capable of raising the heaviest crops, owing to uhi.li this settlement has obtained its present great prosperity. Sicostii —It is the centre of ,he great North West Coal Basic, and is destined soon to be come one of the greatest business i laces in the State. It will supply the great I.ako tnar kcl, (according to pie population and travel ■be greotcst in iho Union.) It bas five work able veins of the best Bituminous coal, amount ing in the aggregate to over 22 feet, which makes 22,000 tons of coal under eurh acre. This will raake the lard of lneafl mable vahro. The eminent geologist Dr. Chas. T. Jackson of Boston, bas made n geological survey of the land, and analysed the coal, the iron ore and limestone. This report together with maps will be furnished to inquirers. Fovna-u—'J hrce Uatlroads are laid out thro' ibis property. The Kunburv and Bite Railroad gives us a mutket for our coal to the lakes—it tuns from Erie to Philadelphia. A large purl of the Road has been finished, and is now in tunning order. A bcuvy force is now working from Erio towards our laud in the western di rection, the means for the completion of which has been rui-c.l, it will soon be finished. The Allegheny Valley "iluilroad -connects ua with New York, Boston and Pittsburg. The Ve nango Hood connects us with the West. There aro already good Turnpike Roads running through this properly, various other roads have been opened to accommodate the emrgration and settlement which has ulieady taken place. There is no opportunity equal to it now of fered to the man who wauls to provide himself a home m an easy way, and make a settlement wheic he can live in prosperity and independ ence in a climate Perfecily Hcallhy. No case of fever ever having been known to occur in this settlement. It is not like going to the linckwonds of tho West, among perhaps intolerant people, wheie there is no society, churches, or schools, wbcro the price of laud is high, ami where the emigrant, after being uaoJ to the healthiest climate in the world, lias to endure sickness and pain, and perhaps ruins his health and that of his family. But here is a thriving settlement having tinee towns, con taining churches, sohnols, hotels, stores saw. milis, giist mills, and everything desired. 'There is a cosh market at hand, 'The lumber tmde lust year amcunted to ovot 'wo hundred million feet of lumber. In a short time, owing to the coal, it will In-come still mote valuable as a number of iron woiks uud mauufuctorius will soon be started; they are at present starting them extensively at Watreu. Even for those who do not wi-li to go there, the payments are such that they can easily buy a farm to suve their rising [amities Iroin want in the future, or to gain u competence by the rise which will lake place in die value of lands. By an outlay scarcely missed, a substantial provision cau be made. Persons should make early ply or write to E. Jeffries, Secretary, No. 135 VValnnt Street, below Fifth, Philadelphia.— Letters carefully answered giving full infor mation. Shares or tracts of land can be bought or j secured by letter enclosing the lirst instull- I men! of five dollars, when the subscriber will j be furnished with bonks, maps, &c. War- I ranteu Deeds given. Persons can also pur j chase from our Agents. Route Irom Philadelphia to Tyrone on the Pennsylvania Central itailroad, and thence by stage to the land. Rkamxo, March 4lh. The undersigned, members of the Commit tee, tin respectfully report, that we saw the two Sales originally agreed upon by Farrols & Herring and Evans it Watson, placed side by snlo n: a furnace, viz: The Sale in use by the Paymaster of the Philadelphia and Read iit2 Railroad Company, in hie office at Head ing, manufactured by Parrels it Herring, and the Safe in use by H. A. Lam*, in Ins store, manufactured by Evans it Watson, and pOt in books and papers precisely alike. The fire was started at Si o'clock, A. M , and kept up until lonr cords of green hickory, two cords dry oak and half chestnut top wood! were entirely consumed, the whole under the superintendence of the subscribers, mem bers ol the Committee. The Sales were then cooled oil with water, after winch they were opened, ugd the books and papers taken out by the Committee and sent to H. The books and papers taken Irom the Sale manufactured by Evans $t Watson were but slichdy affected by the intense heat, while those taken from the Sale umnufac lured by Parrels & Herring were, in our judg ment, damaged fully fifteen per cent, more than those taken from Kvatts & Watson's Sale.
