LUTHER KIDDER, aged a 4>out 50 years. Judge Kidder was a man whose energy and labor made him all he was—a man of learning, eminence and honor. Unwearied diligence and uncorruptible fidelity gained him a high position at a bar which included much of the beat talent in the state. He soon obtained a large and lucrative practice in his profession which give hitn a compe tence and independence through life. Borne years ago he was elected to Ihe Senate from this-district, and afterwards received from Governor Shunk the appointment of Presi- Judge in the Schuylkill district. When he went back te U'ißcasbarre he was welcomed tiy hundreds of bis old friend*, who clung to him until ffie hour of bia death.
