T HE ONLY DISCOVERY • WORTHY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR • RESTORING THE BALD AND GRAY. Many, since the great discovery of Prof. Wood, have attempted not only to imitate his restorative, but pro feria to have discovered something that would produce results identical;'but they have all come and gone, be ing carried away by the wonderful results of 'Profeamer Wood , a preparation, and have been forced to leave the field to its resistless sway. Read the following : BAyir, hiaino, April 18,1859. Poor. 0. I. Woo]) & Co.: Gents :—The letter I wrote you in 1866 concerning your valuable Hair Restorative, and which you have published in this vicinity and else where, has given rise to numerous enquiries touching the facts in the case. The enquiries are, first, is it a fact of my habitation and name, as stated in the com munication ; second, is it tree of all therein contained; third, does my hair still continue to be in good order and of natural color? To all I can and do answer invariably yes. My hair is even bettor than in any stage of my life for 40 years past, more soft, thrifty, and better colored; the same is true of my whiskers, and the only cause why it is not generally true, is that the substance is washed off by frequent ablution of the face, when if care wero used by wiping the face in close con:cootie:l with the whiskers, the same result will follow as the hair. I have been in the receipt of a great number of letters from all parts of New England, asking me if my hair still continues to be good ; as there is so much fraud in the manufacture and sale of various compounds as well as I this, it has, no doubt, been basely imitated, and been used, not only without any good effect, but to absolute injury. I have not used any of your Restorative of any account for Some months, and yet my hair is as good as ever, and hundreds have examined it with surprise, as I am now 61 years old and not a gray hair in my head or on my face; and to prove this fact, I send you a lock of my hair taken off the past week. I received your favor of two quart bottles last summer, for which I am very grateful: I gave it to my friends and thereby induced them to try it; many were skeptical until after trial, and then purchased and used it with universal success. I will ask as a favor that you send me a test by which I can discover fraud in the Restorative, sold by many ! I fear, without authority from you. A pure article will insure success, and I believe where good effects do not follow, the failure is caused by the impure article, which curses the inventor of the good. I deem it my duty, as heretofore, ' to keep you apprised of the continued effect Olt my hair, ae I assure all who enquire of me of my un shaken opinion of its valuable results. I remain, dear sirs, yours A. H. RAYMOND. AARON'SRex, Ky., Nov. 30, 1858. PROF. 0. J. WOOD: Dear Sir :—I would certainly be doing you a great injustice not to make known to the world, tho wonderful as well as the unexpected result I have experienced from using oral bottle of your Hair Restorative. After using every kind of Restoratives extant, but without success, and finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I was finally induced to try a bottle of your Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice compel me to announce to whoever may read this, that I now possess a new and beautiful growth of hair, which I pronounce richer And handsomer than the original was. I will therefore ,take occasion to recommend this in. valuable remedy to ALLlwho may feel the necessity of it. Respectfully yours, „REV. R. ALLEN BROOK. AN aperient and Stomachic preparation of IRON plat fled of Oxygen and Carbob by combustion in Hydrogen. Sanctioned by 'the highest Medical Authorities, both in Europe anti the United States, and prescribed in their practice. The experience of 'thousands daily peeves that no pre• paration of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale and otherwise sickly complexions, indicate its necessity in almost every conceivable case. . Innoxiona in all maladies in which it has been tried, it has, proved absolutely curative in each of the following complaints, via: IN DEBILITy, NERVoUS AFFECTIONS, EMACIATION, DVS. Detour?, whether the result of acute disease, or of the continued diminution of nervous and muscular energy from chronic complaints, one trial of this restorative has proved successful to an extent which no description or written attestation would render credible. Invalids so long bed-ridden as to have become forgotten in their own neighborhoods, have suddenly re-appeared in the busy world as if just returned from protracted travel in a distant land. Some very signal instances'of this kind are attested of female Sufferers, emaciated victims of apparent maiasmne, sanggineons exhaustion, critical changes, and that complication of nervous and dyspeptic wrersion to air and exercise for which Ho physician has no name. In NERVOUS AFFECTIONS of all kinds, and for reasons familiar to medical men, the operation ef this preparation of iron must necessarily be salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it Is vigorously tonic, Without being exciting and overheating; and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most obstinate cases of costiveness, without ever being a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable sensation. It is this latter property,- among others, which makes it so remarkably effectual and permanent a remedy for Piles, upon Which it alai appears to exert a distinct and Specific action. by dispersing the local tendency which forms them. In DT/WM.SIA, innumerable as are itscauses, a single box of these Olialybeate Pills has often sufficed for the moat habitual cases, including the attendant Costiveness. In unchecked Dimmicsa, even when advanced to DYBEN MT, confirmed, emaciating, and apparently malignant the effects have been equally decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength, debilitating cough, and remittent hectic, which generally indicate IN CIPIENT CONSUMPTION, this remedy has allayed the alarm of friends and physicians, in several very gratifying and interesting instances. - In Scutorm.ons TUBERCULOSIS, this medicated iron , has had far more than the good effect of the most cautiously balanced preparations of iodineiwithout any of their well known liabilities. . . . Theathention of femalescannot beteoconfidentlyinvited to this remedy and restorative, in the cases peculiarly af• feeling them. Ia BMTMATIBM, both chronic and ineninmatoryn.the latter, however, more decidedly—it has beeninvariably well reported, both as alleviating pain and reducing the swel tangs arid stiffness of :the. joints and muscles. In lerrsamrrrsffr FEvass it mast necessarily be a great remedy and energetic restorative, and its progress in the new settlements of the West, will probably be one of high renown and intefulness. Rudd y complexion and a rosy tint of the skin, is always indica tive of health; while a pale, wax-like skin and counts. nance,—which evinces a deficiency of the red globules, accompanies a diseased organism. Preparations of Mtn( have been giien for the purpose of supplying the red ea. bides, but we contend that IRON alone, SULPIIVII. alone, or PHOSPHOROUS alone, will not meet the deficiency in every case, but that a judicious combination of on these elements is. necessary to restore the blood to he normal standard. This point, never before attained, has been reached in the BLOOD. FOOD, and its disci:l4aq ranks as one of the most scientific and important of the age. Its effects in CONIIIIMPTION are to soften the cough, brace the nerves, strengthen the system, allay the prostrating night sweats, increase the physical and mental energy, enrich the blood by restoring the lacking red globules, increase the appetite; restore the color, and clothe the skeleton frame with flesh.
