ARRIVAL CYF BERRI Woxranzo —Twenty.aix wounded rebel prisoners were transferred from Chambersburg to. the Chestnut Street Ho:piral, in this city, yesterday. Thine are two colenels, three captains, one adjutant and three lieuten ants incliaLq d in this number. On transferring the patients froa: the cars to the ltraFpital, one H. Archer a Marylander, 4- • of the colonels, Robe.— -; and a member of the rebe. Brigadier General Archer's staff, was highly indig:eat because he couldn't have a carriage to himself which to ride to the Hospital, but two squares 6: 411.4 ; • 1 . 1 appears, however, that he was intoxicated a. the time, and cursed the Surgeon who attended to his wound—a very slight one. The other I colonel, Colatt Leventhorpe, of the 11th North Carolina volunteers, was more gentlemanly in his manners and did not insist on having a room at a hotel in this city; with waffles and spring chickens, as did several of his commissioned subordinates. The prisoners, however, will re ceive the beat medical attendance at the hands 'of Surgeon Maclean and his assistants, who 'will not be c impelled to diet their patients on sole leather soup, such as is received by oar offi cers in Richmond. CAUGHT TEO WHO); 0 (RIGHT) MAN.-.Yesterday Lieut. Joseph M. He immediately dispatched Sergeant John Wilson, his orderly, to the opposite side of the river, with instructions to remain at the entrance of the Harrisburg bridge and i: atercept the young laddies as they came up. 'l!he ser• geant had no sooner posted himself than a charger rounded the curve near the railroad and came dashing down toward the Thridge. The five was aece.pt 'ed ; but the y,..nung deserter was not satisfield %with this. He o f t l-red to sell his horse for th e small sum of $26, reinarking that it did n of-, eostlien anything. The sergeant, who thought 'matters had gone about tar enough, here "put in his oar," arrested the Contractor, and brought him before the Marshal, who discover ed that the prisoner in question was not bn the programme, but was an extra prise. The sec' geant was ordered to confine him in prison. confiscate his holse, and to take his forme!, 'stand on the opposite side of the river,'BA "bring in the other two," who Ind not yet been captured. Messrs. Jibes & Evans :—Well, gentlemen, your Hoofiand's German Bitters has saved my life. There is no mistake in this. It is vouch ed for by numbers of my comrades, some of whose names are appended, and who wen; fully cogniamt of all the circumstances of my case. I am, and have been for the last four years, a member of Sherman's celebrated battery, and under the immediate command of Captain B. B. Ayers. Through the exposure attendant upon my arduous duties, I was attacked in No vember last with inflammation of the lungs, and was fur seventy-two days in the hospital. This was followed by great debilt y, heighten. d by an attack of dysentery. I was then remov ed from the While House and sent to this city on board the steamer State of Maine, from which I landed on the 28th of Jane. Since that time I have been about as low as any one could be and still retain a spark of vitality. For a week or more I was scarcely able to swat low anything, and if I did force a morsel down, it was immediately thrown up again." I could not even keep a glassbf water on my stomach. Life could not last under these cir cumstances ; and, accordingly, the physicians who bad been working, faithfully, though un successfully, to rescue me from thegrasp of the dread archer, frankly told me-they could do no more for me and advised me to age a clergyman and to make such dispdsition of, my limited funds as best suited me. An acquaintance who visited me at the hoapital, Mr. Foxierisk Stein bron, of Sixth below Arch street, aSVfied me, as a forlorn hope, to try your bitters, iind kind ly procured a bottle. From the thrui4 com menced taking them the &piny itiadow of death receded, and I am now, thank God for it, getting better. Though I h;tve taken but swo bottles, I have gained ten pounds, •ant! I feel sanguine of being permitted to r4eih-ray wife and daughter, from whom' have heartnothing for eighteen. months ; for, gentlemen'?" I am a loyal Virginian, from the vicinitir - of Front RoyaL To your invaluable Patters I owe the certainty of life which has taken the place of vague fears—to your Bitters Will I owe the glo r ious privilege of again - diving to my noeom those who are dearest to me in life. Very truly yours, 11813a0 MALONE. We hilly concur in the truth of the above statement, as we had despaired - of seeing our comrade,. Mr. Malone, restored to health.
