They take. them all (except owners tf over twenty slay who are exempt,) and atthti end of the bayonet when they are a littitf realise in obeying the order.— But the hardship does not end here, for all the farmers of the coentry toe required to furnish a tenth portion of their produce of every }rind for the subsistence of they,. commilpia. They are required also to" deli'ver their tenths at depots got more than eight miles from the place of production: If the farmer; hoe net team, and cannot (at his awn-expense) hire one, he must store the' - tenth" carefully, and at kit trim Tisk, until he pam get means to transport it to the proper nIE6 - fr. If a man resist thle order, by re fusing to report, shoot him down and leave him dying. If a man takes refuge in a house ar.d offers resistance, set the house on fire and guard It so he may not go out." • The reader can see from this order what are the different degrees of tyranny prevailing in the South and the North. We doubt whether any man, who feels so aggrieved at the exactions of onr Government here, would be wilieng to exchange places with the resident of a Southern State; any poor =rime mean, for if he was the owner of twenty slaves he would escape the Conscription more saltily than theowner of $3OO among ns, for the latter has to give his mohey to escape, bat the former esotpes because of the possession of his slave& Our law takes pro perty, therefore, in lien of service.
