After a circle through the Middle Went Mr. Taft is convinced that thin is a mighty good year for Republicans. Bryan's cleMinn would convert the business of the United States into a huge conundrum, and the answer might not be forthcoming for years. Nkdrask has never voted Bryan's way except once, in 1896. The time that Bryan has given the state this year shows that be knows the chances are against hi in again. Rkpuiu.icans wiJJ not be caught by tbe sleek trick of givingcomplimentary votes to the opposition this year. Vote your ticket with a single cross and your con science will be clear. The election ol Taft will give an im pulse to all new enterprises. The election of Bryan would be a hold-up of business, perhaps for years. What good seaman falls to slow tip Id a fog f Even southern factories, in future or ders for the delivery of machinery and supplies, are Inserting clauses specifying that, in cae of Mr. Bryan's election, the orders shall be null and void. This shows pretty plainly which way the wind is blowiug. Vote for Taft, Sherman, Portor, Wheel er, Rice, Mechling, Geb-l, Maxwell, Harrison, Zuendel, Gregg, Warden, and Sibble. One cross will do tbe Job, and thst's what every Republican should make this fall. You do not want to see a change to Democratic rule. Then vote your ticket straight. That's the way to prevent It. Mr. Bryan in his recent speeches has almost invariably used this choice sen tence: "Republican policies mean dis aster, while Democratic policies mean prosperity." It is hard to realize that even the reckless "peerless one" wonld have the nerve to make such a statement, which is at variance with every fact in our recent political history. He plaiuly must believe that the American people are ignorant fools. Titusville Herald. Arthur C. Greoo and Geo. W. War den, the Republican nominees for Coun ty Auditor, are men qualified by exper ience and training to fill this Important station, and their election by large ma jorities ia assured. Ernest Sibble, for Jury CommliHloiier, has bad three years' experience in that office, and will make a satisfactory official when elected, wbich he is sure to be, having no formidable opposition. Give these gentlemen your support. Mr. Gomi'Ers declares that "despotic power under the ermine Is as dangerous as despotic power undor the crown; to stay its progress some remedy must be had." The attack of Mr. Gompers is In reality on the Supreme Court of tbe United States, which has stood the test for 10 years, and commands the respect and confidence of the people as does no other institution of the Government, If there is one thing between the people of this country and chaos, it is the Supreme Court that bulwark of liberty where the rights of every man are sacredly re garded and sacredly secured. The voters of the country should ponder long and thoughtfully on any proposition looking to the doing away with it, says the Oil City Blizzard, to which every sane man in the United Slates will say "Amen!" Less than two weeks yet remain of the present campaigu. It has been one of the most remarkably quiet Presidential cam paign in the history of the country, es pecially in Pennsylvania, but this should not lull the Republicans to sleep. They uiu oe up ami doing. No need to get excited, but you ought to be doiug some thing for the success of the local candi dates, who are hustling for themselves and doing their duty to the party. Give them a cordial welcome when they come around and see that they get every Re publican vote in your district. Our op. pon nuts expect to catch us napping, and by asking a complimentary vote bureand there hope to elect a part of their ticket. See that they get left on that Be he mo, Give no oomplimentaries. They some times defeat the very men yon would like to see elected. Vote your ticket straight. That's the busiuess proposition. Evert loyal Republican will stand by the ticket which be helped to nominate. A cleaner or better ticket lias never been placid before the voters of Forest county. To elect it by good minorities it ia only necessary for every Republican to get to the polls and vote quick by simply niak ing across in the Republican square. An I'p-lo-Date Charity. The local advisory board of tbe Chil drens Home Socioty of Pennsylvania for Tionesta stands as follows: President, Mrs. A. Carson; Vice Prest dent and Secretary, Mrs. Snie May Sharpe; Treasurer, A. R. Kelly; Losal Advisor, A. C. Brown; Medical Examin er Dr. K. J. Bo-ard; Advisory Commit tee, Mrs. a. V. Watson, Mrs. J. B. Hag' erty; Honorary Members, Pastors; Ad visers, Mrs. Orion Siggins, Rev. W. E Davis, West Hickory; Mrs. N. P. Wheel er, Rev. J. F. ficherer, Endeavor; Mrs. Leon Watson, Dr. C. Y. Detar, Rev. R. J. Montgomery, Kelleltville. "Tbe most serious single cause of the Increase of misery, crime, and depend ence ia the neglect of childhood." This statement is true and when It conies from the lips of a man like Devlne of New York, we can feel assured that such is so In this following motto I will bring be fore you the Idea and purpose of this so ciety; "Two things which should not be; a homo with . lit a child and a child with out a home." This board is to co-operate with superintendents and assistants, re porting cases or destitution and neglected children, helping to find desirable homes and assisting to safeguard the welfare of those placed iu homes in their locality. This society is national in the area of its operations, yet each stste is separate in its scope and plan of work. Its agents and missionaries move out all over this state In search of tbe home and the homeless. This makes our Children's Home Society very aggressive and it is permanent be cause its friends are Joined iu the bond of membership. As an interdenominational organization it unites the big hearted and benevolent in all its noble efforts. From a scientific standpoint it studies tbe home conditions and the child nature. If we take it from a supplementary stand point, it has but one purpose, which is to help any person, society or institution to save a child. Now we will take another view of this great work. It Is protective In that it substitutes intelligence for Ignorance and virtue for vice. As a patriotic and loyal force in society, it has but oue aim, which is to take and give tbe unfurtunate child a chance to qualify for useful citizenship. From an economical standpoint, It se cures the largest results for the least ex penditures of any philanthropic move ment on foot. It gives what God gave, mother and home, therefore it is divine and truly Christ-like as an institution to save children. Helpful, comforting and scriptural, "Who so shall receive one such little child in My name receiveth Me." Our local advisory board will be glad to have you Join this society. Please be liberal and helpful to this movement so that it can render the right kind 'of service here in Forest County. We are Bocuring local representatives from d lifer ent points in this county. Any of our officers or Mr. Geo. H. Thompson, Dis trict Missionary, will be glad to give you further Information. State Superintend ant Rev. W. Henry Thompson, D.
