5k &rwti Mk:ikl &, Closing Out Prices on Carpets. Every Yard of Piece Carpets in Stock to Go at Less than Cost. An Opportunity Not to be Slighted. The rapid and continued growth of two prominent depart ments, millinery and "ready-to-wear," demand more room. The business done in both these lines made more floor space impera tive. We then decided to take one-half of our second floor for our millinery department, a lucky move lor this depart ment, but to carry out this plan our carpet stock must be sacri ficed. Never since we started this Cloak and Suit Department have Dooular priced suits received so much careful thought and consideration by our cloak and suit buyer as they have this season. First we sought out the very best makers of medium and popular priced suits. You know that's the way the suit business is divided up. Each suit house has their specialties. We shopped from one end of the suit market to the other. One suit from this house, two or three lrom another, a half dozen from a third and so on till we have finally assembled what we consider the handsomest showing of suits between 12 and $20 shown by any store in this section of the state. In not a few instances slight changes were suggested by our buyer which the maker was perfectly willing to entertain. Not in style, but often in the matter of trimming, stitching, buttons or some other little detail which tended in each in stauce to improve the suit. Not satisfied with securing the very best values to be had, we've gone a step further and scaled down the matter of profits to the very lowest pointy consistent with safe merchandising. That's plainly evidenced in the kind of suit priced here at 13.75, $15, $16.50 and 18.50. Now here's a statement we believe you'll verify once you see the suits : Not one of the several different styles ot suits selling for $13.75, 15, $16.50 and $1,8.50 that would have been considered much out oi the way had we priced them $5 higher in each instance. We have not, in our storekeeping experience, seen suits to compare with them in value. e want a hundred of these suits sold in" this city and vicinity to advertise the possibilities ot this store's Cloak and Suit Depart ment. Suits that prove at once the assertion made repeatedly in these column that we are striving for "Ready-to-Wear" su premacy on the actual merits of the garments we sell. WILLIAM B.
