Sec. 1. No hunting or shooting on Sun day. Penalty, $25 for each offense, or imprisonment one day for each dollar's fine. Sec. 2. No one shall at any time kill any song bird, or destroy their nesta or eggs, exoept under conditions that in no way applys to this section. English sparrows, hawks, owla and herons are excepted. Penalty, $10 for each bird or imprisonmeut as in section one. Sec 3. Game birds may be shot from Oct. 15 to Deo. 15, except Mongolian, English or Chinese pheasants, which cannot bo taken for five years from June 4, 1897. Woodcock may also be shot during July. Penalty, $25 for each bird shot out of season. Sen. 4. Deer may bo shot during No vember only, and never whilo in tho wator. Dog hunting Is illegal and the dogs so hunting may be killed by any body without recourse. Penalty, $100 for each offense. Sec. 5 makes trap bunting of auy kind illegal, and no person may purchase game or birds so killed. Penalty, for deer, etc., $100 for each animal ; for birds, $25 each. Sea G. No person or transportation company shall have in possession any game whose killing is prohibited. One person can kill in one day only 10 pheasants, or 15 quail, or 10 woodcock, or 2 wild turkeys ; or two doer in one sea son. Penalty, from $50 to $100 for each offense. Sec. 7. Rabbits may be killed from Nov. 1 to Dec 15 inclusive, and no person may even have any such in his posses sion out of the soason. Penalty $10 for each rabbit or squirrel. Seo. 8 prohibits the use of ferrets In hunting rabbits, and a person having a ferret in his possession will be deemed guilty. Penalty, $25 for each rabbit so killed. Sec. 0. Killing birds or game with any thing but a gun is prohibited, and no trap, blind or light may be used. Pen alty, $50 fq each ofiensn. Sec. 10. Breaking or destroying nosts or eggs of birds makes a penalty of $50 for each nest or egg so destroyed. Sec. 11 makes possession of any game, fresh skin, birds or eggs prima facie evi dence of guilt. Seo. 12 provides that actions under this law must be begun within a year of the time of the allegod violation. One-half tho fine goes to the lu former aud the other half to the State. Downing has made considerable improvements on his dwelling house In tho past four weeks. The Panther Rock saw mill, Intends starting up to-day, (Monday) for their first to Baw out a largo stock of logs. This plant is perhaps one of the fiuest in the county, being fully equipped with the latest machinery, the shingle mill under the fame roof, has been running day and night, to Bupply the large demand. It seems through the western part of this state and Ohio and West Va., a large amount of shingles, are needed to re shingle the buildings unroofed by wind last fall. We aro not in perfect harmony with a thing like this, but if the wind will cause us more work, we aro designed to think, "let the gentle zyplers blow."
