The familiar sound of the lumber wagon on the plank road is heard once more, and "rafting in" the new made boards bas begun, Tom. Flynn, jobber. We would venture to say there is more business done here this summer than in any other town in the county, considering its size. The third barge will be ready for market in a few days. TbeBe barges are quite an interesting piece of work ; their average length, 100 feet, width 25 feet, heigbth 7 feet, contain about 34,000 feet of lumber, and one ton of iron. It requires a little over a week to build one ; they are intended for coal. Mr. Rogers has moved his family to Lacy's Mills recently; the vacated house will soon be occupied by a gen tleman from Pittsburgh. The young folks are agitating cro quet; will refit the old ground upon the island. A lovlier spot is hard to find ; we wish them success. Ed. Dewoody just arrived from Cin cinnati on a visit to his parents. Ed's not one of your idle boys, but is now busy rafting io for Tom. Flynn, where he may be found if wanted. Nebraska's good people were de prived of church service on Sunday; too much rain and other services in terfering. Whooping cough is giving way to measles. What next ? Moke Anon. Nebraska, Pa., June 1st. Kelleftville Items. Mr. J. M. Kepler has been in town the last few days. The Salmon Creek Mill, conducted by J. A. Long is now in operation. Mr. Haggerty appeared in town last evening, and is now the gi:est of C. M. Whiteman. Mr. John Noble is now engineering nt the mill, John Puffenberg having failed to come back from his trip flown the river. Mr. Lusher of Braceville has moved in the house formerly occu pied by Alpheus Graham. The populatiou of this town is still increasing. Mr. R. R. Andrews departed for Canada the .first of the week, where he intends staying a few days. Mr. A. J. Small, together with E. Goodwin and J. Osborne, have gone to Tionesta for the purpose of draw ing seme lumber out of the creek for Judge Arner. Miss Annie Kiser is making ber home at C. M. Whiteman's for a few weeks. Mr. E. E. Stitzinger has g.. out fishing this afternoon. We hope he will catch anything but a "Minnie." Mosquitoes are already making their appearance. They are small at the waist, delicate in their organiza tion, round shouldered and inclined to consumption. You can see 'em; when you caii't see 'em you can hear 'em ; when you can't hear 'em you can feel 'em. And when you can neither see bear doi1 feel them you know they've been around because they've left their mark. Kid. May 30, 1885. List of Patents.
