'Oilffl mnrA heforA cdpntinn enmoa would wo earnestly urge the Republi cans of Forest county to bend their energies to the getting out of the full vote.' No one will dispute the necessi ty of this is if we ffish to elect our straight ticket and we know this to be the earnest desire of every true Republican io the county. We have ticket that no one cau say aught ogainst. Every man on the ticket i eminently qualified for the position to which he aspires, and there is no reas on why Repulicans should not tutn out and do their best to have them elected. Our State candidates are all that any man could ask iu point , of fitness and ability; that they will prove themselves in every way worthy the confidence reposed in them there is not a particle of doubt. Our County Ticket is equally good and deserving the support of Repub licans as well as all others who like efficient, painstaking and pleasant officials. The office of County Treas urer should be filled by one who is careful, capable, and pleasant with all who bay have business to transact with him. It is to the interest of tax payers to have such an ' oue. It is left with the people of Forest county f.o tay whether they will elect such an one; whether they want an active, wide-awake business uiao, who is pleas aot, courteous and capable, or not. This is a question of vital importance to every taxpayer iu Forest county, and we h?pe all will decide wisely. We have no hesitancy in savins that the Republican party presents a can didate in the person of William Smear baugh who fills every requirement we have mentioned. Let us elect him ; No one will regret it. The offices of County Surveyor, and rCoroner also want careful and effi cient. men to fill them ; men of skill and good judgment, who will take pride in attending to' their duties faithfully. They are not lucrative positions, but are nevertheless impor tant to the citizens, and they, should be careful whom they elect to fill thera. Mr. If. C. Whittekia U the "candidate for Surveyor ; he is a skill ful workman, wakei it his profess ion, and thus understands it thor oughly. Dr. J. W. Morrow is the candidate for Coroner, and an excel lent choice it is. He is reliable in every respect, and being a physician he is just the man for the position. We wish to make one last appeal to the Republicans of the county to turu out and get your neighbor to turu out with you. Chairman Irwin has an address elsewhere in this issue which we hope all will heed. It is timely and to the point. Let us be vigilant and work, and victory will crown our efforts. Let each individual do his whole duty during the few days that yet remain. Tjie Phila. Tine' story that Lew is O. Cassidy thinks of withdrawing his declaration that ho is a candidate f'-r U. S. Senator, proves incorrect. Cussidy publicly proclaimed tbis fact, and be will never withdraw it. He has already captured Berks and North- I'lpttlO. , TO THE VOTERS OF FOREST COUNTY. Next Tuesday tho people of Penn sylvania will be called upon to decide who they will have for Treasurer and Auditor General of the State, and coming nearer home the votors of For est will elect a County Treasurer, Sur veyor, and Coroner. The Republican party has presented good men and true to fill these offices from tho highest to the lowest men who fill the require ment of being honest and capable, The reports received from differ ent parts of the county are auspicious, and seem to point surely to a Repub lican victory as far as this county is Concerned, yet for all that, we want to be active and vigilant and work to make good the glorious consuma tion, as it is writteu by the Roman, "The gods help those who help them selves." The State seems sure, for the Republican party presents this year a solid front ; both the regular and the independent speak from the same stump in a common cause and call upon the people at the polls this fall to rally and put the seal of condemna tion ou Democratic misrule, as has been wisely said, by doing as we used to do, elect every man. All Repub licans are now seeking the common success and if they are only active and vigilant Victory will again be painted on the old banner on the Gtb day of November, 1883." Let there be no apathy or indiffer ence, for it is a campaign for the fu ture and will have great influeuce on that of next year. Forest is a Re publican county and the State un questionably is so when a full vote is out at the polls. If every man in the county would make himself a com mittee of one to get out the voto, vic tory is insured already, misrule con demned and democratic extravagance at Harrisburg rebuked by the people. Rally then, at the polls, and do your duty. Samuel D. Irwin, Chairman Rep. Co. Com'tee. The. Republican Senate has passed eleven resolution s fur final adjourn ment. The Democratic House has sat down ou all of thera, and thus pro moted a grab of $485,000 from the State Treasury. "Turn the rascals out." The Republicac party in this State is now fully united. Gen. Beaver and Seuator Stewart are now address ing meetings from tho same stump. So are Gov. Iloyt and Senator Cooper. Union and harmony prevail in the ranks. All that is needed is a full vote. The strength and triumph of the party, being united, roust use its full strength at the polls this fall, to elect an Auditor General and State Treasurer, and the entire county tick et, and prepare for the greater and more important struggle of next year, when questions of vital interest in State and Nation are to be decided.
