Dr. Philips of Lickingville, has charge of tbe case, aud it was in consultation with him that Dr. Coburn was called. Examine tho Registry List. Voters can savo themseves trouble in the future by looking to see now if their uames are upon the registry lists and by taking care, if their names are not upon the lists to have them placed there. Prior to the first Monday of AuU6t assessors are required to post in each election district a list of tho voters tf the district. To this list the assessor is required to add upon per sooal application the names of persons eutitled to voto and make a seperate list of the new assessments, which list is also to be publicly posted. ' ot OIL NOTES.; And still the gushsrs continue to come in and gush with wonderful regularity ia the Forest county field. On Monday evening Balltown No. 13, which is located on the north line of 4821, was drilled two bits in the sand and the first hour it made sixty-seven barrels. It will make a 1000 barrel well good enough. Yeslerday morning Graodin No. 14, on 5236, tapped the sand nnd be gan flowing strong. It i put down by the scouts as a 600 barrel well, but is more likely to be a 1000-barreler. The next well of importance is Billtown No. 11, on 4821. It is 1G00 feet deep and will doubtless reach tho sand this week. Its location is forty rods northwest of No. 10. Tho Beaver Valley well was finish ed lest week; that is, it was below the sand level, and the contractors, Messrs. Grove & Cj., abandoned it and pulled the casing. The owners how ever, concluded to put it down further and on Monday set ihn contractors to work agaiu. They will perhaps, get to drilling by to-day or to-tuorrow. Work on the Hunter well aeross tbe river has been somewhat retarded on account of the hole being filled with iron and other missiles. It is uow clear of all rubbish and we may expect to see it finished in about two weeks. P. S. Since the above was in type they have experienced a break dawn at the above well. Tho jars were broken, and it may. be several days be fore drilling commences again. The report of oil operations for Au gust shows that 310 wells were com pleted during the month giving a dai ly output of 4,257 barrels, with 29 dry holes; being au increase of 48 wells and 440 barrels daily product ion over the ncord of July with nine more dry holes. Warren and Forest shw the greatest increase in product ion. Sporting Matters. THE HUNT, The event of the season in tbepft ing line look place last Saturday, the occasion of the match bunt. That was the opening day of the 6quirrel season, and sl lovely day it was, and although the game was scarce the hunters all seem to have enjoyed themselves and were generally satis fie J with the bags they made. Iu the evening all assembled at the Lawrence House and handed in their counts. It was generally conceded that Harvey Foreman's side was ahead, but as two men on our side and one on his had not reported yet no decision could be arrived at until all were iu, there be ing at that time only 87 of a differ ence. The absentees were Joe Clark on Foreman's side, and Jake Siggins and Mack Agnew on ours, and the well-known qualities of Siggins as a squirrel destroyer, aud the firm belief that he would come in with no less than 100 of a count made the situa tion very uncertain. But they all came in about 8 o'clock, and, sure enough, like tbe last preciuct in a closely contested election ofteu turns the scale, so did Jake's string decide tbe matter, and, together with Ag new's, brought our side out 59 ahead; not enough to brag about, however. As soou as this result was announced the supper bell rang, and, all being dangerously 'hungry, the victuals dia appeared with a rapidity that was awful to contemplate. The supper was a eplen did ond and did credit to the house. As ou all former accasions the boys want to try it again, and it is likely they will in a couple or three weeks, when game will doubtless bo plentier. Pleasanville came over on Saturday last aud got taken in considerably worse than Tionesta did at the former place three weeks ago. The game look place on the island in the after noon, aud up to tho fourth inning was quite hotly contested, neither side scoring a run. Here a break was made, and it seems the Tionesta boys got the best end of tho string nod rau their score up to twenty beforo tho game closed, while their pporeuts scored but four ruus. W hell tho gauio closed Pleasantvillu gavo three chctrs for "Oil City," whereupon Tionesu returned tho "poinpliment" by three rousing cheers for "Shamburg." Not withstanding thesb little inaccuracies in calling the names of the two clubs there, was no bad feeling on the part of either nine, and the whole afTair pass ed off pleasautly enough.
