Here it will be met by the P. B. it U. narrow gauge, which company has agreed to extend its Hue down Blue Jay creek to the above named junction. At the mouth of Mininter the W. & F. Ry will aUo build its road down the creek to Balltown or Brush Camp, and we learu from good authority that the Company intends to continue its line right ou down the Tionesta to its mouth, whether the oil field should extend below Bobs creek or not, be lieving that there are sufficient natur al resources along the creek, such as lumber, bark, &c, to make the enter prise a pavinc one, and in this belief they are entirely correct, for there are thousands upon thousands of cords of hemlock bark along tho Tionesta and its tributaries, the transportation of which wonld doubly repay the build ing of a road. We hope the citizens and business men along the liue, as well as thofe of our town, will extend tbe Company all possible encourage ment. The above system of narrow gauges will do more toward the devel opment of our whole county than any thing which could be undertaken, and we hope nod expect soon to be able to record its consummation. The month of March will doubtless see more active operations in oil in Forest county than in any ons month since the first well was drilled. In the Cooper District eight wells are ex pected in durinz the month, some of which will prove important test wells. Eight new wells have been located at Balltown, some of which have com menced operations, and six of them will doubtless be completed before the first of April. The Vcnsel well on sub. 54, Jenks twp., will be down sure this month, but whether the owners will open it to tho public right away is not known; thp chances are they won't. Dimruick & Co., on warrant 3193 will fiuisli their well this week. The Wolcott it Co. well, on Sugar Ruo will be finishnd the present month, provided they encounter no more re verses in the way of break-downs. J. W. Searls & Co.'s venture, on tho Walters farm ought to be finished within the next three weeks. This makes 19 or 20 new wells for March and by the first or middle of April we will know considerable more about Forest county oil matteis, and it lf likely that we shall see some new territory opened up.
